The Box Man
Published on Jun 16, 2014
A man encounters a mysterious cardboard box. I made this film a long time ago. In may ways it is reflection on a culture of observation and fear which still seems relevant today. Let me know what you think it is about in the comments.
Written, directed, and animated by Nirvan Mullick. The film is based on a 1974 Kobo Abe novel called The Box Man. Shot on 35mm, this was my CalArts thesis film; it took me over 3 years to finish. Official Selection Cannes Cinefondation, Winner AFI Fest 2002 Audience Award & Special Jury Prize
